Delivery Information
At Ridings of Yorkshire, we strive to provide efficient and reliable delivery services for our customers across the UK and beyond. Please find below important information regarding our delivery options, charges, and procedures.
Mainland United Kingdom:
- DPD: £6.95 (Mon-Fri) - DPD Tracked courier service, delivering next day after dispatch. Recommended for heavier parcels and fresh-bakes/perishables weighing up to 30kg. Named day service recommended for gifts.
- FREE DELIVERY on orders over £100*: Spend over £100* in your order to get FREE postage to a single postal address. Mon-Fri DPD Tracked courier service. (*£100 spend excludes VAT. Free postage is for a single order going to one delivery address up to 40kg in weight. Highlands & Islands postcodes go by Royal Mail).
- Royal Mail:
- £1.25: Up to 120g (envelopes, 1st class).
- £5.50: Up to 2.99Kg Tracked 1-2 day.
- Pallet: For orders over 60kg, we offer a pallet haulage at a discounted rate of £40.
Highlands & Islands Areas
- Royal Mail Tracked: £6.95 (1-3 day post, tracked service). We will replace any perishable goods with longer life products.
- Postcode areas: AB, FK, HS, IM, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE.
Channel Islands, Scilly, Isle of Man
- Royal Mail Tracked: £6.95 (1-3 day post, tracked service). We will replace any perishable goods with longer life products.
- For the Channel Isles, an import tax and duties may have to be paid by the recipient on delivery.
International
- Due to restrictions on Export commodity codes relating to food, we currently do not ship to Europe, Ireland (except NI with Royal Mail), and other unlisted countries. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.
- USA: DPD Classic £30.95 for up to 2KG, £40.95 for up to 3KG.
- In some countries, an import tax and duties may have to be paid by the recipient on delivery.
Processing Your Order
- We process orders during normal office hours and aim to post them out for your requested ideal delivery date or as close to it as possible, depending on the required items' availability.
- For perishable/short shelf-life goods, we plan around their availability to ensure optimal freshness. For example, we do not post out parcels containing perishable goods (e.g., bread, scones, pies), clotted cream, or cheese on a Friday for Monday delivery, as they wouldn't keep. Instead, we will post them on the next available posting day.
Delivery Dates
- While we always endeavor to deliver your order on your "preferred date for delivery," we cannot guarantee delivery for a specific date or time. However, we aim to post your order for your requested ideal delivery date or as near to it as possible, depending on item availability.
- For orders containing fresh goods, we work around their availability to ensure freshness. For example, we do not post parcels containing fresh bakes (e.g., bread and scones), clotted cream, or cheese on a Friday for Monday delivery, as they wouldn't keep. Instead, we will post them on the next available posting day.
DPD Delivery
- You will receive an email/text when we create the label if you provided us with these details. You will receive updates from DPD as your order is loaded onto the van, and a 1-hour time slot on the day of delivery.
- Parcels may require a signature on receipt or a photo of the delivery will be made. If there is no one at home, a card is usually left by the delivery company or a photo taken, and a second attempt will be made.
- If a parcel is returned to us due to failed attempted deliveries, we will offer to resend the parcel, but additional postage and packaging charges may apply. It is not the fault or responsibility of Ridings of Yorkshire if the recipient is not available to receive the parcel.
Royal Mail Delivery
- You will receive an email/text when we create the label if you provided us with these details. You will be able to track your order.
- If there is no one at home, your postman or postwoman may leave the parcel in a Safeplace at the property if they find a suitable location, or they will leave a 'Something for You Card.' If they cannot deliver to a neighbor, they will return the parcel to a local Royal Mail Customer Service Point and leave a 'Something for You Card.'
- If a parcel is returned to us due to failed attempted deliveries or collection, we will offer to resend the parcel, but additional postage and packaging charges may apply. It is not the fault or responsibility of Ridings of Yorkshire if the recipient is not available to receive the parcel.
Posting to Highlands or Islands Areas
- We only offer Royal Mail 1-3 day delivery to specific postcode areas, including AB, FK, HS, IM, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE. Posting to these locations usually takes 1-3 days.
- For parcels containing fresh bakes, cheese, or clotted cream, we will substitute items that won't compromise quality or taste to ensure a delightful experience for the recipient.
Large & Corporate Orders
- We are pleased to supply large orders of hampers, gifts, and bespoke hampers for collection, to one address via pallet, or to multiple addresses via DPD or Royal Mail. For more information, please visit our Gifting Service page.
